According to Mehr reporter, Nushafarin Ansari, Secretary of the Children’s Book Council, speaking at the ‘Librarians and Reading Promotion’ session held at the stand of the Public Libraries Institution of the country at the Tehran International Book Fair, said: It is very pleasing for cultural figures to see that one of the busiest stands at the Tehran International Book Fair is that of the Public Libraries Institution, and various sessions and activities in the field of books and reading are held there every day.
She added: This institution, with its extensive cultural activities, is in touch with people, and in various parts of the country, librarians, through their presence, turn the wheel of people’s lives. These cultural activities are so fruitful and prosperous that the Public Libraries Institution can become a social institution.
The Secretary of the Children’s Book Council continued her remarks by thanking Mehdi Ramezani, Secretary-General of the Public Libraries Institution, saying: The activities of the secretariat of this cultural institution over the past year have been very fruitful and commendable.
Ansari emphasized that the Public Libraries Institution of the country is a very serious and strong cultural institution that has emerged from the heart of the people and also operates among them, adding: This institution, by its presence in villages and remote cities across the country, has been able to help expand the culture of books and reading.
She concluded by recounting a distant memory, saying: During the war, when cultural figures wanted to go to various parts of the country to help people and boost their cultural morale, I suggested they approach librarians due to the presence of public libraries and join their activities in helping the people.
