The 15th Sharjah Publishers Conference Began
The 15th International Sharjah Publishers Conference, attended by 1100 publishers and 300 book experts from 100 countries, began today (Sunday, October 20) in Sharjah’s Al-Falahiya Free Zone.
The conference, hosted by the Sharjah Book Authority in cooperation with the Arab Publishers Association and the International Publishers Association, provides an opportunity for the exchange of views and experiences among publishers worldwide.
The main themes of this conference include the future of digital publishing, challenges and opportunities in the book market, publishers’ rights, and the role of artificial intelligence in the publishing industry.
Dr. Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said at the opening ceremony of the conference: «Sharjah, as the cultural capital of the Arab world, has always supported the publication and promotion of books.»
He added: «This conference provides a platform for dialogue and cooperation among publishers so that we can shape a brighter future for the publishing industry.»
The conference will continue until Tuesday, October 22.
