No External Advantage Will Influence the Judging of the Holy Defense Book of the Year Award

In an interview with a Mehr News Agency correspondent, Ali-Mohammad Moadab, the secretary of the 21st Holy Defense Book of the Year Award, stated regarding the judging of the submitted works: “The Holy Defense Book of the Year Award is a specialized award, and we try to benefit from the expertise of prominent figures in various literary and artistic fields in the judging panels. In the main judging panels, we also use the most reputable experts in each field. This award aims to honor the best works, and we hope this can be achieved.”

He added: “In the judging process, we try to ensure that no external advantages influence the evaluation of the works. That is, the author being from a specific group or the publisher being a particular entity will not create any special advantage for the work. What matters to the judges is the work itself, and their vote is based on the quality of the work. If it is a good work, it will be praised.”

Moadab continued: “For this reason, sometimes in the Book of the Year Awards, we see that books from lesser-known publishers in small towns win awards. This is because the judges have concluded that the work is of high quality. Therefore, no special privilege is given to any specific publisher or author, and only the quality of the work is considered by the jury.”
