A Collection of Memoirs of Women in the Sacred Defense Was Published in Ilam
The book “Sayeh Sare Baloot” (The Oak’s Shade), a collection of memoirs of women in the Sacred Defense from Ilam province, compiled by Zohreh Nazari, has been published by Surah Mehr Publications of the Hozeh Honari (Art Bureau) of Ilam Province and released to the book market.
This book contains the memoirs of 35 women from Ilam province who were active during the Sacred Defense, including medics, relief workers, and cultural activists.
The author of the book, Zohreh Nazari, stated: “This book is the result of three years of field research and interviews with women active during the Sacred Defense era. The work was very difficult, from finding the individuals to convincing them to share their memories.”
She added: “In this book, I have tried to narrate the role of women who were either on the front lines or behind the lines, a role that has been less addressed.”
The book “Sayeh Sare Baloot,” with an introduction by Somayeh Tahan, was published in its first edition with a print run of 1,000 copies and a price of 150,000 Tomans.
