28th Algiers International Book Fair opens with Iran in attendance

ALGIERS, Nov. 01 (IRNA) – The 28th Algiers International Book Fair kicked off here on Wednesday, with the Islamic Republic of Iran attending as a special guest.

According to IRNA, the opening ceremony of the book fair was held in the presence of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Advisor to the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for International Affairs Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri.

The 28th Algiers International Book Fair, which is being held from October 25 to November 4, hosts more than 1,000 publishing houses from 53 countries.

Iran is attending the exhibition with a pavilion covering an area of 50 square meters, showcasing 320 titles by 10 Iranian publishers.

Iran’s pavilion features books on various topics, including Persian literature, Iranian studies, religious texts, children’s books, and art.

Cultural programs, including meetings with authors, book signing ceremonies, and workshops on Persian language and Iranian culture, are also planned to be held at Iran’s pavilion.

The Algiers International Book Fair is one of the most important cultural events in Algeria and the Arab world, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Its primary goal is to promote reading and cultural exchange among nations.

Iran’s participation in the fair is aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and introducing Iranian literature and culture to the Algerian people.

This marks Iran’s 10th attendance at the Algiers International Book Fair.
