Iran Participates in Algeria Book Fair After Years of Absence

Tehran (IRNA) – Iran is participating prominently in the Algiers International Book Fair this year after years of absence. This significant cultural event provides an opportunity to introduce Iran’s rich literature and culture to an international audience.

Gholamali Fakhari, Iran’s cultural attaché in Algiers, told IRNA: “Iran’s presence at this exhibition after a hiatus of about a decade indicates the will of the two countries to expand cultural relations.” He added that the Iranian pavilion would include books in various fields such as history, philosophy, classical and contemporary literature, art, and Islamic sciences. Programs such as introducing Iranian authors and literary gatherings will also be held.

The Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) is considered one of the largest cultural events in North Africa, attracting numerous publishers and authors from around the world annually. This year, the 34th edition of the exhibition will be held from October 25 to November 4 at the Algiers Convention Center.

Fakhari emphasized that the main goal of this participation is to strengthen cultural exchanges and introduce Iran’s publishing capabilities to regional and international markets. He expressed hope that this presence would pave the way for further cooperation with Algerian publishers and cultural institutions.
