Collecting Iranian children’s books in various languages
The issue of collecting Iranian children’s books in various languages was discussed at the meeting of the Council for Children’s Literature and Research. This initiative aims to gather children’s literature published by Iranians across the globe, especially those in different languages.
During the session, the objectives and necessities of this project were reviewed. Discussions also covered methods of cooperation with international institutions and Iranian communities abroad to facilitate the collection and preservation of these valuable works.
The Council emphasized the importance of safeguarding the cultural heritage of Iranian children’s literature, regardless of the language of publication. This collection will not only provide a comprehensive resource for researchers and educators but also serve as a vital link for Iranian children living in other countries to their cultural roots.
Plans were laid out for identifying key sources, establishing digital archives, and organizing future events to promote these collected works. The project is seen as a crucial step in promoting intercultural dialogue and ensuring the accessibility of diverse Iranian narratives for the younger generation.
