Book Garden Cineplex to screen Chinese animated film franchise

TEHRAN – Book Garden Cineplex, a major cinema in Tehran, will be screening a Chinese animated film franchise, beginning with “Boonie Bears: Guardian Code” on Thursday.

The film, a 2023 Chinese animated fantasy adventure comedy film directed by Lin Yongchang and Shao Heqi, is the ninth film in the “Boonie Bears” franchise.

Book Garden Cineplex is part of the Book Garden complex, one of the largest cultural complexes in Tehran, which includes several bookstores, a children’s science center, and a large cinema complex. The Book Garden was inaugurated in 2017 and aims to promote reading and cultural activities.

“Boonie Bears: Guardian Code” follows the two bear brothers, Briar and Bramble, and their human friend Vick, as they discover hidden memories about their past and their mother. The film was a commercial success in China, grossing over $200 million.

The screening is part of a cultural exchange program to introduce popular Chinese animation to Iranian audiences. Future screenings from the franchise are expected.
