Mohammadali Movahed’s Message for Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan Conference

Mohammadali Movahed, a distinguished writer, researcher, and editor, sent a message to the International Conference on Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan, which was held in Bushehr. He addressed the conference through a message, drawing attention to Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan’s historical neglect and stressing the importance of comprehensive research on this great man.

In his message, Movahed stated: “Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan’s era was a period of the Qajar dynasty when the coastal regions of the Persian Gulf were undergoing significant changes, influenced by political and commercial events.” He added that in the historical accounts of that period, Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan has been overlooked, and his status as a statesman and prominent writer has not been given due attention.

Referring to the book ‘Meftah al-Falah wa Misbah al-Najah’ by Fakhr al-Din Abd al-Samad Shirazi, Movahed mentioned that the only manuscript of this book known to him was transcribed by Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan. He continued: “This handwritten copy, in the beautiful script of the calligrapher, is currently preserved in the Majlis Library. This book is a mystical work, rich in valuable content, and its transcriber was a man of letters who dedicated his life to knowledge and research.”

Movahed emphasized the necessity of in-depth research into Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan’s life and works. He reiterated that his message is an appeal to historians and researchers to fill the gaps in the study of this significant figure. He expressed hope that the conference would open new avenues for understanding Mirza Mohabbat Ali Khan’s multifaceted personality, from his political roles to his literary contributions as a poet and a scholar, and his passion for collecting manuscripts.

The organizers of the conference acknowledged Mohammadali Movahed’s influential role in Persian literature and his significant contributions to research, stating that his message provided a valuable perspective for the attendees.
