Beginning of a joint project between the National Library and Bu-Ali Sina University for heritage preservation
A joint project between the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) and Bu-Ali Sina University has begun with the aim of preserving the historical heritage of Hamadan province.
Hojjatollah Veisi, the provincial director of NLAI in Hamadan, announced the commencement of this joint project, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two institutions to protect the region’s cultural legacy.
Veisi stated, “Following discussions and coordination with the head of the central library of Bu-Ali Sina University, a joint project has been initiated for the comprehensive preservation of historical documents, manuscripts, and published works related to Hamadan’s rich heritage.”
He added that the project aims to digitize and make accessible these valuable resources, contributing significantly to research and academic studies. This initiative builds upon previous successful collaborations, such as the digitization of historical newspaper archives, which proved instrumental in preserving unique historical records.
The director highlighted the commitment of both the National Library and the university to leverage technological advancements for the conservation and dissemination of national heritage, ensuring its availability for future generations of researchers and the public.
