A Joint Initiative to Cultivate a Book-Reading Generation; A Memorandum of Understanding is Underway

The Public Libraries Institution and the Ministry of Education are preparing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation aimed at cultivating a book-reading generation in schools and public libraries. This agreement is being drafted with the goal of promoting reading culture and enriching students’ leisure time. The Director General of Cultural and Artistic Affairs for the Ministry of Education emphasized the necessity of inter-sectoral cooperation for the development of reading. He also referred to recent activities by the Public Libraries Institution in creating special sections for teenagers and children.
