As a plan aimed to replace the unsuitable methods of entertainment with book reading, the opening ceremony of Tehran Book Garden will be held on Monday, July 12. According to the correspondent, the opening ceremony
will be atended by the Director of Tehran Book Garden Complex; the Mayor of Tehran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf; Managing Director of Nashr-e Shahr Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini several Iranian cultural figures and officials.
Tehran Book Garden was scheduled to open earlier this month, at the time of the opening of Tehran International Book Fair, but the event was postponed to a few months later. The 65,000 sq. m. Book Garden is the largest cultural complex in the country that consists of the largest art gallery with an area of 1,700 sq. m., the largest bookstore in the country with an area of 14,000 sq. m. and the largest science center in the country with an area of 12,000 sq. m. More than 400,000 book titles will be held in this garden. Tehran Book Garden is composed of several sections. The first section consists of bookstores as the
world’s largest bookstores, the second one is devoted to art galleries of the country, and the third section is for movie theaters and the city’s major theater. The most important section of the Book Garden is the Center for Children and Young Adults Science with an area of about 12,000 sq. m. The fifth section is allocated to the adventures of children and young adults, called the Children and Young Adults Garden, and the sixth section is devoted to recreational fun events and is open to all age groups.
