Iran Studies Department Of Panteion University Inaugurated

The library of Panteion University in Athens inaugurated its Iran Studies Department in a bid to introduce Iranian culture and literature to the Greek students According to correspondent, Dean of Panteion University Ismini Kriari-Katrani and Iran’s Cultural Attaché to Athens Ali-Mohammad Helmi officially opened the department on December 26. Panteion University is among the three oldest universities of political sciences in Europe. At the inaugural ceremony, Dean of the University said: “Iran Studies Department features books on Iranian culture, history and contemporary political issues which makes the Iranian resources available to the students and scholars in their studies.” Kriari-Katrani further stated that the major part of the works available to students in this department is in English and Greek, but there are also books in Persian, French and German. Elsewhere in her remarks, she expressed interest in improving Panteion University’s cooperation with Iranian universities and research centers.
