Director of Pervan Publications said that ‘Ruba’iyat of Omar Khayyam in 10 Languages’ is displayed at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) and has been received warmly by the visitors.
Speaking to the correspondent, Hamid Reza Majd-Abadi said: “From the early days of the 30th TIBF people particularly the foreign guests welcomed this masterpiece of the Persian poetry by Hakim Omar Khayyam very enthusiastically and many copies of the work ha ve been sold. The same is true about the book of do-bayƤ s [a form of Persian quatrains] by Baba Taher in two languages which we are also presenting in the event.” Commenting more about ‘Ruba’iyat of Omar Khayyam in 10 Languages’ the director of Pervan Publications in Tehran stated: “The poems are in Persian, English, French, German, Russian, Italian, Turkish, Hungarian, Dutch and Arabic.
The book is based on his original version reviewed by Iranian scholars Mohammad Ali Foroughi and Ghasem Qani with a preface by the celebrated Russian orientalist Vladimir Minorsky. “Even some foreign visitors of as a loss to translate the other works of Iranian poets into various languages and published them,” Majd-Abadi added.
