Iran’s Day Ceremony as the guest of honor of the 24th Beijing International Book Fair was held during the event at Iran’s stand. According to correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute, Iran’s Day Celebration at Beijing International Book Fair was held yesterday with Iran’s Ambassador to China Ali Asqhar Khaji, CEO of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute Amir Mas’oud ShahramNia, Deputy Director of China’s Writers Association, Lee Jam Ming, and foreign guests at Iran’s stand-in attendance.
In this event, Shahram-Nia welcomed the attendants and said: “The participation of Iran as a special guest is the start of a new round of cooperation between Iran and China in the field of culture and art. Both Iran and China have a long history of civilization and culture.” “We hope that China will have good plans during the 20 months’ time to attend the Tehran Book Fair,” he added. Elsewhere at the ceremony, Ming said: “Iran has a rich background in terms of culture and civilization and enjoys a special place in the Silk Road, as well.” He added that Iran’s presence as a special guest in Beijing Book Fair is a special opportunity for the people of China to become closely acquainted with the Iranian culture. The celebrated Iranian author of the children’s and young adults’ books Houshang Moradi Kermani, and Sacred Defence writer Ja`far Shiralinia, also read parts of their stories that were welcomed by the audience.
