Iran And Serbia Sign MoU On Publishing


On the sidelines of the 62nd Belgrade International Book Fair, Iran and Geopoetika International Publishing House of Serbia signed a and memorandum of understanding for corporations in print industry According to correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of Iran›s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI), the memorandum was inked between the celebrated Serbian writer Vladislav Bajac who is also the CEO of Geopoetika, as well as the representative of ICFI and Iran’s Cultural Attaché to Serbia Mohsen Soleimani in attendance.
The agreement contains issues like cooperation and exchanging information among the publishers of the two countries of Iran and Serbia based on legal international principles, as well as boosting collaboration for the translation of Persian and Serbian language books. Furthermore, 10 books written by the authors of the two countries will be translated into Persian and Serbian
supported by the framework of “grant program”. Elsewhere in the meeting, Mr. Bajac referred to the shortage of Serbia to Persian translators: “We have already translated 30 works of Serbia literature to English as well as some others to French and German. Likewise, I propose the translation of these works to the Iranian translators as this task is backed by the Serbia’s Culture
Ministry.
