At a press conference, the Head of Iran’s National Library and Archives Reza Amiri Salehi told the international media that the relationship between libraries throughout the world helps to accumulate their experiences. The foreign media journalists visited different parts of the National Library on Sunday, September 13, 2015, and asked the head of the organization and his deputies their questions. This press conference was attended by Reza Salehi Amiri, Head of National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran; Fariborz Khosravi, Deputy of Research, Planning and Technology; Gholamreza Amirkhani, the National Library Deputy; Qassem Nasiripour, Security Director and Amin Arefnia, Chief Advisor and Director General of the Office of the Public Relations. Salehi Amiri began his speech by referring to the special programs of the National Library to improve the performance of the organization and said that the most important thing that has happened was the scanning of books in the library such that every second a page is added to this collection.
He further said that the National Library is headquarter and representative of all the libraries in the country and so we do our best to organize these libraries in an earnest, coordinated manner. To do this, we have established the largest libraries Assembly which is named with the initial letters that stand for the school. According to Khosravi, 3000 researchers refer to the library on a daily basis, but the deputy of research, planning and technology is trying to offer more references electronically to remove the need for physical attendance. In this way, scanning of all sources has been set on the agenda and researchers from all places can communicate online with our experts and solve their research needs.
