Influence of poems by Forough and Sohrab in Italy

A meeting on the influence of poems by two leading Iranian contemporary poets, Forough Farokhzad and Sohrab Sepehri in Italy will be held at the cultural center of the Book City Institute on Tuesday.

According to quoting from the public relations office of the Book City Institute in Tehran, this meeting will take place as a program of the series of weekly programs organized by the Book City Institute. One of the key features of poems composed by Forough and Sohrab is their universal aspect and translatability in two different languages. The images these two poets create from the modern world are evidently congruent with definitions of divan by some Western modernist thinkers of modernity. Their poetries transcend the borders of time and space, for example, translated into Italian, their works have been warmly received by the audience. The meeting on the influence of poems by Forough and Sohrab in Italy will be attended by Fae’zeh Mardani, an Iranian instructor of Persian language and literature at Bologna University who has also translated the poems of Forough Farokhzad into Italian.
