Children book illustrated by Kiarostami exceeds 245000 copies


The total print runs of ‘The Valuable and Glorious Life Story of the Red Pen’, a book for children illustrated by the acclaimed Iranian filmmaker and designer Abbas Kiarostami exceeds 245000 copies in the country.

According to quoting from the public relations department of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, ‘The Valuable and Glorious Life Story of the Red Pen’ which was illustrated by the late Kiarostami and Darioush Dianati, was first published in 1981 with the print run of 20000 copies at the price of 40 Rials. From then on, the book has been reprinted 13 times. The last edition of this work was printed last year, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of founding the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.‘The Valuable and Glorious Life Story…’ is suitable for drawing and coloring by children aged 4 to 5 and as an entertaining game that teaches them about plants, animals, and objects. In 2011, an animated film based on this book was produced in the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.
