The First Mobile Public Library of Mehdishahr County on the Path to Equipping and Launch
MEHDISHAHR (Khabar Online) – Mehdishahr County is preparing to launch its first mobile public library, an initiative aimed at expanding access to books and fostering a culture of reading in underserved rural areas.
The project, currently in its equipping and operational setup phase, is a collaborative effort between the local government and the Public Libraries of Semnan Province. It seeks to bridge the gap in library access for communities where traditional brick-and-mortar libraries are scarce.
Expanding Literary Horizons
The mobile library will be outfitted with a diverse collection of books suitable for all age groups, ranging from children’s literature to academic texts and popular fiction. It will regularly travel to remote villages, schools, and cultural centers, offering on-the-spot lending services, reading programs, and cultural activities.
Mehdi Ahmadi, the head of Mehdishahr’s Public Libraries Department, stated, “This mobile library will be a beacon of knowledge, bringing the joy of reading directly to the doorsteps of our citizens. We anticipate its full launch within the next few months.”

The initiative is part of a broader national effort to enhance public access to cultural resources and promote lifelong learning across Iran.
