ILAM (IRNA) – The Ilam Book Fair officially opened today, marking a significant cultural event for the province. The fair, which runs for five days, aims to promote reading and provide access to a wide array of literary works for residents.

According to Mojtaba Heidari, the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Ilam Province, the fair features over 30,000 book titles from 250 domestic publishers. “This event is a golden opportunity for the people of Ilam to engage with diverse literary genres and enhance their knowledge,” Heidari stated during the opening ceremony.

Visitors to the fair can benefit from various discounts, with special subsidies provided by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Up to 40% discount is offered on all books, encouraging wider participation.

The fair also includes several side programs, such as book critique sessions, author meet-and-greets, and workshops on creative writing. These programs are designed to create a vibrant cultural atmosphere and stimulate intellectual discussions among attendees.
