The Empty Space of the Book Fair in Mashhad / House of Storytellers to be Established
Seyed Saeed Sarabi, Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Razavi Khorasan, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), announced the holding of provincial and specialized book fairs in Mashhad, stating: The absence of a permanent book fair in Mashhad is a void that we are planning to fill.
He added: Holding a book fair in Mashhad is one of the main demands of cultural and artistic figures and the people, and we are striving to provide a suitable space for this purpose in cooperation with Mashhad Municipality and the Governorate.
Sarabi also mentioned the establishment of the “House of Storytellers” in Mashhad and stated: This center will be established with the aim of supporting young and veteran writers, holding workshops, specialized meetings, and book review sessions.
He emphasized: The House of Storytellers can become a gathering place for writers and significantly contribute to the growth and flourishing of fictional literature in the province. This action is taken to develop reading culture and improve the quality of fictional works in Razavi Khorasan.
He also spoke about future plans for promoting reading: We have various programs on the agenda, including reading festivals, introducing top books, and donating books to deprived areas.
