A Letter from Dr. Mojtaba Minovi in the year 1334

Mojtaba Minovi (1282-1355 SH / 1903-1977 CE) was a distinguished Iranian historian and scholar of literature and Iranology. This article presents a letter from him, written in 1334 (1955).

The text of the letter, sent from Istanbul, is as follows:

“Dear Dr. Ebrahimian,

I received your kind letter. Thank you very much. I have been extremely busy these past two months. Just as I am writing to you, I have finally finished correcting the sixth volume of the ‘Divan-e Kabir,’ which Mr. Forouzanfar sent me. These corrections are very time-consuming. I have also prepared a list of errors for the third and fourth volumes of ‘Tazkirat al-Awliya,’ which I will send next week. I am also working on another manuscript, and I hope its printing will be finished by the end of June. […] The Ministry of Culture has not yet sent the money for the book copies that Mr. Taraghi bought in Tehran on their behalf. In any case, I am very pleased to see you and kiss you from afar. Regards to all friends.

Your devoted, Mojtaba Minovi.”
