The story follows a group of former friends who, once driven by ideology and idealism, are now consumed by a deep-seated hatred for one another. The novel delves into the transformation of love and friendship into animosity, exploring the complex psychological and social landscapes of a post-conflict society. The narrative raises questions about the nature of hatred and its origins, whether it stems from love, ideology, or personal betrayal.
A passage from the back cover reads: “In this novel, we witness a profound and terrifying hatred, a hatred not born of barbarism, ignorance, or malice, but one that emerges from the heart of love, the heart of ideology, the heart of friendship. ‘The Hate of the Youths’ is the story of this great, philosophical, and beautiful hatred… the story of a generation that thought it could create paradise but instead built a greater hell.”
The 382-page novel has been released to the book market.
