The Abu Rayhan Library building in Shiraz does not have the capacity for repairs/ The municipality should provide another place for the library

Ruhollah Beheshti Fard, Director General of the Public Libraries of Fars Province, stated that the building of the Abu Rayhan Library, one of the oldest libraries in Shiraz, lacks the capacity for repairs and the municipality must find a solution for its relocation.

In an interview with IBNA, he added: “The Abu Rayhan Library is located in a deprived area of Shiraz and is one of the busiest libraries in the city. The building is old and no longer has the capacity for further repairs.”

The Director General of Public Libraries of Fars continued: “This library has a very good membership, and we must not let the services of this library be stopped. Therefore, the Shiraz municipality must find a solution to provide a new location for this library.”

Beheshti Fard emphasized: “The cultural services of the Abu Rayhan Library should not be interrupted under any circumstances, and this requires the cooperation of the Shiraz municipality.”

He also mentioned the Shahcheragh Library, stating: “This library has been temporarily closed due to repairs. The repair work on this library is also the responsibility of the Shiraz municipality, and we hope it will be reopened soon.”
