Memoirs of a Wife When Love and Martyrdom Are Narrated Simultaneously

The book “Tochal with You,” narrating the memoirs of Effat Shariatpanahi, the wife of the noble martyr Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-e-Agha, has been published by Ravayat-e Fath Publishing.

This book, which is part of the “Women of the Revolution” series, recounts the memoirs of the wife of martyr Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-e-Agha. Her life story began in 1978 and continued until the martyrdom of her husband in 1985. The book depicts the love-filled life of this couple, who navigated the ups and downs of life together. With the onset of the Imposed War, a new chapter began in their lives. The constant presence of her husband on the front lines and the hardships that followed are all part of Effat Shariatpanahi’s memories.

In a part of this book, we read:

“The commander had told him that it was better for him to go to Tehran for treatment. His leg injury was severe, and the field hospital facilities were not sufficient. He had said, ‘Until the operation is over, I’m staying.’ He did not like to leave his comrades alone. He was scheduled for a major surgery on his leg. From behind the operating room door, I heard his voice. He was talking to the doctor. He said, ‘If you see that I might be martyred during the operation, don’t anesthetize me. I want to be conscious in my final moments and say the Shahada.’ I got goosebumps. A strange fear and anxiety came over me. I sat on a chair in the waiting room. I closed my eyes and put my hands on my face. With every breath, I remembered our life together. From the first day until that moment.”
