300 Writers Worldwide Campaign Against The New York Times

Approximately 300 international writers have signed an open letter condemning The New York Times’ coverage of the Gaza war. These writers, from various countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia, accused the newspaper of bias and failing to adhere to journalistic standards.

The letter, published on the “London Review of Books” website, states that The New York Times has consistently amplified the Israeli narrative and ignored the suffering of Palestinians. The signatories demanded a review of the newspaper’s editorial policies and the provision of more balanced and humane coverage of the situation in Gaza.

This movement reflects widespread dissatisfaction within the international literary community regarding the media’s handling of ongoing conflicts. Prominent writers such as Michael Ondaatje, Anne Enright, and Naomi Klein are among the signatories of this statement.
