Strategic cooperation of Lorestan cultural institutions on the path to promoting reading

According to Khabaronline News Agency from Lorestan, in line with expanding cultural cooperation and promoting reading culture, Elham Borna, Director General of Public Libraries of Lorestan Province, met and discussed with Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Vahidi, Director General of the Islamic Development Organization of the province. This meeting was held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, and both parties, while reviewing areas of joint cooperation, emphasized utilizing existing capacities to attract audiences and strengthen cultural activities.

In this meeting, which was held with the aim of cultural synergy and developing book-centered programs, strategies for implementing joint projects in the fields of books, reading, and cultural activities were discussed and exchanged.

During this meeting, Elham Borna referred to the new role of public libraries in society and stated: Public libraries are not merely places for lending books, but can transform into active cultural and social centers. She added: Cooperation with institutions like the Islamic Development Organization provides a suitable platform for expanding reading culture among various segments of society, and implementing joint programs will lead to greater dynamism in libraries.

The Director General of Lorestan Public Libraries also emphasized: Holding cultural gatherings, awareness programs, and book-centered conferences plays an effective role in attracting new audiences and enhancing the status of libraries in society.

Following this, Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Vahidi, Director General of the Islamic Development Organization of Lorestan Province, stated that books are one of the most important tools for the cultural growth of society. He added: The Islamic Development Organization is prepared, alongside its religious activities, to implement joint book-centered programs to take steps toward raising awareness and promoting reading culture.

He specified: Cooperation and synergy between the two cultural institutions can be a successful model for other provinces, and through purposeful participation, a better introduction of books and reading to the younger generation can be provided.

At the end of the meeting, both parties, emphasizing the continuation of interaction and consultation, expressed hope that practical steps would be taken to promote cultural growth and develop reading culture in Lorestan province through effective joint programs.
