Presence of Iran House of Books and Literature at the Istanbul International Book Fair

According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), quoting the public relations of Iran House of Books and Literature, the 42nd Istanbul International Book Fair, with the slogan ‘Different States of Literature,’ started on December 12th [22 Azar] and continues until December 20th [30 Azar] 1404 at the ‘TÜYAP’ exhibition center.

Iran House of Books and Literature is participating in this period of the Istanbul International Book Fair’s international section, presenting over 250 book titles in areas such as classical and contemporary literature, poetry, Iranology, children and young adults, art and illustration, Iranian culture and civilization, and a collection of selected translations, along with a book publishing platform and literary and illustration agency from Iran.

Furthermore, introducing the capacities of Iran’s publishing industry, the Grant scheme, Iranian illustration, creating opportunities for bilateral cooperation, copyright exchange, and discussions with Turkish publishers and cultural managers are among the most important programs of Iran House of Books and Literature at the Istanbul Book Fair.

The international section of the Istanbul International Book Fair is active from December 13 to 16 (the first four days), and this section is considered a turning point for cultural and professional exchange among publishers, providing important opportunities for discussions and introducing publishing markets. Publishers and cultural institutions from various countries are present in this section, and extensive programs are held to introduce works and develop international cooperation.

Also, for the first time in this period of the Istanbul International Book Fair, an illustration wall section has been created, which is considered one of the sections of interest to illustrators and publishers.

It should be noted that in this period of the Istanbul International Book Fair, publishers and institutions from 14 countries are present and display their works. Various cultural programs, including sessions, workshops, and numerous book launches, are planned for this exhibition, which shows the position and importance of this event for publishing industry activists.

According to published statistics, the 42nd Istanbul International Book Fair, with over 1015 participants and approximately 510,000 visitors, is considered the most important and largest event in Turkey’s publishing industry.

It should be noted that in recent years, Turkey has hosted other exhibitions in cities such as Bursa, Karadeniz, Izmir, and Ankara, but the Istanbul International Book Fair is still considered the main and most influential event in the country’s publishing industry.

The Istanbul International Book Fair, with approximately 13,914 square meters of exhibition space, is considered one of the most important platforms for cultural and publishing interactions in Turkey, and the presence of Iran House of Books and Literature at this event has provided an opportunity to introduce the country’s works and publishing capacities.
