“A Screenplay, Forough Farrokhzad” Published by Vaj Publications

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), this book includes Forough Farrokhzad’s screenplay “The House Is Black,” several images from the aforementioned film by Soleiman Minasian, an essay about the film, and an essay about Forough Farrokhzad’s cinematic career by Rasoul Nazarzadeh.

In the aforementioned essay, the author examines Forough Farrokhzad’s cinematic career, her period of presence at the Golestan Film Organization from 1958 to 1966, and all her activities and experiences in filmmaking, training periods abroad, dubbing, and her acting in several short roles. And in an essay about the film “The House Is Black,” an attempt has been made to approach the film with a contemporary reading and analyze its various aspects from four perspectives: narrative/narrator, shots/camera, mental space/real space, mental time/real time.

The final section of this book is dedicated to Forough’s letters to the family of Hossein Mansouri, a child whom Forough Farrokhzad adopted from a leper colony.
