«Unfinished Fever»; A Female Narrative of Patience and Resistance in the Mirror of Book Culture

«Unfinished Fever»; A Female Narrative of Patience and Resistance in the Mirror of Book Culture

According to Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA), this program was dedicated to Reza Amirkhanian, a prominent writer of our country, who is hospitalized due to an accident.

Bagheri-Asl: Literature is inherently a resistive matter

Mohsen Bagheri-Asl, a literature expert and specialist on the «Book Culture» program, said at the beginning of the program: Literature worldwide is the «language of resilience» and teaches people how to stand against suffering. He emphasized that the Sacred Defense is a natural extension of this resistive nature and added: The confluence of literature and defense creates a human sanctity; and it is from this point that works of resistance become popular and influential.

Referring to the book «Unfinished Fever», he said: This work is a «clear example of the power of female narrative» in representing the suffering, steadfastness, and spirituality of martyrs’ families.

Author of Unfinished Fever: A life story that stayed in my mind for 17 years

Zahra Hosseini Mehrabadi, the author of the book, said in this program: She first saw the image of a quadriplegic veteran on television in her youth, and a «big question about the origin of that peace» arose in her mind. She added: For years, she waited for someone to narrate the life of Martyr Dokhanchi, but since such an event did not happen, she started writing the book herself.

Hosseini explained: «Unfinished Fever» is not just a narrative of suffering, but a representation of a mother’s human and faithful encounter with 17 years of nursing her quadriplegic child; a female narrative that, according to her, «had been missing in resistance literature for years».

Literary Critic: Female narratives of war need more attention

Mehdi Safaei, the program’s literary critic, referring to the social value of this work, said: Narratives like «Unfinished Fever» illuminate an important part of contemporary history; parts that were previously less heard. He considered the book a successful example of «emotional historical narrative» that can introduce readers to the concept of resilience.

Mehdi Safaei emphasized the importance of a «female perspective» in Sacred Defense narratives and considered «Unfinished Fever» an example of works that can connect today’s generation with the real experience of veterans’ families, without clichés and exaggeration.

Hamasehyaran Publications: The book passed its tenth print run

Mehdi Ghorbani, content manager of Hamasehyaran Publications, announced in an interview with the program: «Unfinished Fever» had reached its tenth print run before the Leader’s commendation was published, and is now in its fourteenth or fifteenth printing. He considered the main criterion for selecting the book to be the «importance of the role of women and families in resistance literature» and emphasized: The Hamasehyaran collection has prioritized this field for many years.

Mohammad-Tabrizi: Cinema needs female narratives of the Sacred Defense

In the «Text Frame» section, Ahmad Mohammad-Tabrizi, a cinema expert, considered «Unfinished Fever» a suitable opportunity to analyze the representation of women in Sacred Defense cinema and explained how, in recent decades, the image of women has changed from «passive» to «active».

Tabrizi emphasized: «Unfinished Fever» showed that the capacity for female narratives in Sacred Defense cinema is very high. Referring to the evolution of women’s image from the 1980s and 1990s to today, he said: Untold narratives like this book provide an opportunity for filmmakers to create realistic, non-clichéd, and dramatic works.

He cited films such as «Gilaneh», «Track 143», and «Villa-eha» as examples and reminded that Sacred Defense cinema now needs female and real narratives more than ever.

«Unfinished Fever»; A Narrative of Silent Heroes

Other parts of the program, including the reading of the Leader’s commendation, audible excerpts from the book, and the launch of the «Hero in the Shadow» campaign, also emphasized the main theme of the program: the necessity of hearing the narratives of women who, in the heart of war, through patience and care, have remained heroes of unfinished stories.

This program, focusing on the review of the novel, is broadcast on Wednesdays at 8 PM from Radio Farhang.
