Mirhashem Miri, Hamedani Poet and Researcher, Passed Away
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Hamedan, this morning, Mirhashem Miri, a renowned researcher, scholar, and poet of the first generation of the Islamic Revolution, who was contemporary with Seyed Hassan Hosseini, Salman Harati, Qaysar Aminpour, and others, and whose quatrains were admired by literary circles from the beginning, passed away.
The head of public relations of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Hamedan province, while offering condolences for this loss, stated: Mirhashem Miri was born in Hamedan in 1954 (1333 Solar Hijri). He completed his primary and secondary education in this city and, in 1973 (1352 Solar Hijri), concurrently with entering Tehran’s Higher Teachers’ Training College, he joined the Hamedan Education Department.
Habib Shahnavazian said: In 1977, he taught in Nahavand high schools, and from 1986, by invitation of Islamic Azad University of Borujerd, he taught Persian language and and literature.
He clarified: Miri returned to his hometown Hamedan in 1990 and continued teaching in high schools, in-service training courses, and the Government Management Training Center.
Shahnavazian continued: The late Miri began writing and composing poetry from his youth. During the years of the Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq War), he co-founded the ‘Milad Literary Association’ with several friends.
He added: For some time, under the pseudonym ‘Moein al-Din Aal Taghi,’ he collaborated with Roshd Moallem, Roshd Nojavan, Roshd Amozesh Zaban va Adabiat Farsi magazines, and Hamedan Culture Quarterly.
He reminded: Collaboration with Hamedan Radio and Television in preparing and executing several cultural programs, editing Hamedan Culture Quarterly and several other books are among Mirhashem Miri’s other works.
