Reza Amirkhan’s Interpretation of Paragliding
According to Khabaronline News Agency, Reza Amirkhan, a writer who also has a hand in paragliding, published a text on April 6, 2021, about the challenges facing this nature-loving sport.
Referring to the preservation of the environment and the main elements of nature, he wrote:
“One who supports the Iranian cheetah, in fact, fights against excessive road construction and improper mining in the desert; he is a protector of the soil. Another who spends his life protecting the Baluchistan dwarf crocodile, in fact, ensures access to healthy water; he is a protector of water. The components of nature are continuous and interdependent.
And paraglider pilots are supporters of another of the four elements. They are among the supporters of the wind…
Wherever a cheetah runs, it means there are kilometers of healthy soil in the surrounding nature. Wherever a Gando (marsh crocodile) crawls, it means there is healthy water in the river’s path, and wherever a paragliding bird flies, it means that at least at the takeoff and landing site, nature is calm and the wind has a way to blow…
The cheetah is not a danger; it is a sign of health. The Gando is not terrifying; it is a sign of purity. The paragliding bird is also a sign of nature’s breath.
The life of many paragliding sites in Iran is today threatened by picks and loader claws. May this nature-oriented sport and thermometer of healthy nature remain, just as the Iranian cheetah and Iranian Gando must remain…”
