Bahram Ardabili’s Book

According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Bahram Ardabili, born in 1942 in Ardabil and passed away in 2005 in Tehran, was one of the poets of the movement known as ‘Other Poetry’; an unconventional and reserved poet, with a strange and eventful life. Many of Ardabili’s poems have not survived, and many of his works have been lost.

The book ‘Bahram Ardabili; In Conversation with Dariush Kiyaras’ includes an interview with this contemporary poet by Dariush Kiyaras, poems by Ardabili, two notes by Dariush Kiyaras about this book and the purpose of compiling it and similar books, explanations about Bahram Ardabili and his works and some of his statements in this interview, anecdotes from the poet’s life, his conduct, demeanor, and way of thinking, his remaining prose works, what has been published about Ardabili in the press, a collection of images, and an appendix by Bijan Elahi titled ‘Shaygan-e Jali’.

In the book ‘Bahram Ardabili; In Conversation with Dariush Kiyaras,’ we both engage with the words of this contemporary poet, who, as Dariush Kiyaras explains, was not very talkative, and read his works, including poetry and prose, becoming acquainted with aspects of his life and mental world. The book ‘Bahram Ardabili’ sheds light on a part of the history of contemporary Iranian poetry, especially the history of ‘Other Poetry,’ revealing lesser-known facets of contemporary poetry.

This book, consisting of 179 pages and priced at 435,000 Tomans, has been published by Bidgol Publishing.
