The book ‘A Light That Does Not Go Out’ was unveiled.

According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Shahrud, coinciding with Basij Week, the unveiling ceremony of the book “A Light That Does Not Go Out,” authored by Gholamhossein Riahi, a writer, journalist, and psychologist from Shahrud, was held on Thursday morning.

This book was unveiled on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony for 697 Basij martyrs of Shahrud city, and its author was honored.

Gholamhossein Riahi, a writer and researcher, told an IBNA correspondent in Shahrud about the book “A Light That Does Not Go Out”: “The position of student and teacher martyrs during the Sacred Defense is the main focus of this book.”

Riahi stated that the approach of this book is a structural study of the role of cultural figures in the Sacred Defense, adding: “This book is in fact a kind of cultural encyclopedia that introduces 250 teacher and student martyrs of Shahrud and provides details about their lives.”

He added that the cultural martyrs of Shahrud city are considered among the prominent martyrs of the city, saying: “Since Shahrud accounts for the highest number of martyrs in the entire Semnan province, it is necessary to introduce these martyrs in various formats.”

Brigadier General Mansour Shoghani, Commander of Semnan Province’s IRGC, also attended the book unveiling ceremony. In a brief interview with an IBNA correspondent in Shahrud, he considered the unveiling of books by Basij writers of the province as one of the significant programs of Basij Week, coinciding with the week celebrating the status of books and reading.

Brigadier General Shoghani also considered the production of books with cultural content, especially sacrifice and martyrdom, a worthy and commendable cultural endeavor, emphasizing: “In the field of ‘Jihad of Elucidation,’ whatever work we do is insufficient, and for this reason, the work of local writers of the province who address the status and dignity of the martyrs of this province is very valuable.”
