Promoting Ashura Culture by Supporting Local Writers and Artists of Semnan Province

According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Semnan, Hojjat al-Islam Morteza Moti’i, on Tuesday morning, during a meeting with the Director General of Islamic Guidance of Semnan Province, emphasized the necessity of holding promotional, explanatory, and educational events with the aim of training local writers and artists, stating: Islamic Guidance has a pivotal role in elevating the culture of Semnan Province.

Referring to the holding of cultural and artistic events such as the national and international Mehr Moharram mourning ceremony in Semnan, he called for the promotion of Ashura culture by supporting local writers of the province and added: We have very considerable capacities in various artistic and cultural fields in the province that can be utilized.

The Friday prayer leader of Semnan also, referring to the necessity of supporting and motivating artists, said: Holding artistic and cultural events by Islamic Guidance can also help spread and expand Ashura culture.

Moti’i considered the establishment of the Mehr Moharram mourning ceremony as a blessed cultural and artistic event for Semnan Province, which has been well-received by national and international communities in recent years, and said: A work dedicated to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is enduring.

He stated that if today the enemy uses all its tools to influence our country’s culture, we too must strengthen ourselves through the same means, adding: Utilizing the capacities of sciences and technologies in creating cultural and artistic content is very important and should be considered by the Islamic Guidance of Semnan Province.

The representative of the Supreme Leader in Semnan Province, stating that all capacities, especially modern technologies, can be utilized to introduce Islamic teachings, said: We have good artists in the province whose integration of art with technology can create lasting works.

Moti’i expressed that in cultural works like the “Mehr Moharram” mourning ceremony, as in any other event for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), sincerity of action is important, adding: It is this sincerity of action that increases the effectiveness of such events.

Seyed Rasoul Mousavinejadian, the Director General of Islamic Guidance of Semnan Province, also mentioned the regular and high-quality holding of the national and international Mehr Moharram mourning ceremony in this meeting, saying: The establishment of the Mehr Moharram mourning ceremony has found a good place in the history of our country’s art and we are proud that its beginning was in Semnan Province.

Mousavinejadian stated that the organizers and activists of the Mehr Moharram mourning ceremony make special efforts for this event throughout the year, adding: Fortunately, the number of participants in this event increases year by year.
