KhabarOnline News Agency, quoting IRNA, and citing the Public Relations of the Iran House of Book and Literature, reported that the “6th Kish Book Fair” commenced on Saturday, Azar 1, 1404 (Solar Hijri calendar), with the slogan “Books: A Window to Life.” The event took place at the exhibition hall of the Kish Free Zone, attended by Mohammad Mahdi Ahmadi, Senior Advisor to the Minister and Head of the Artistic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Alireza Biniaz, Kish Friday Prayer Leader; and other officials from the Kish Free Zone.
The exhibition is held across an area of 7,000 square meters. Daily visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. For the 6th Kish Book Fair, 350 publishers have registered, with 247 of them having delivered their books to the warehouse of the Iran House of Book and Literature for display. In total, 17,253 book titles published over the past five years, comprising 180,000 volumes and valued at over 15 billion Tomans, will be showcased to enthusiasts.
One of the prominent features of this year’s exhibition is the introduction of a special booth dedicated to reading tools and equipment, a first in the history of Iranian book fairs. This initiative aims to cater to the needs of the reading community and enhance the appeal of reading.
The 6th Kish Book Fair, running from Azar 1 to 9, 1404 (Solar Hijri calendar), offers a unique opportunity to meet publishers, access new publications, and experience modern reading tools, thereby playing a significant role in promoting reading culture on Kish Island.
