Invited Guests Narrates the Story of Kanoon

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), this work, which is a picture book for audiences over 9 years old, narrates the story of several working children who, through their acquaintance with the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon), travel into the heart of Iranian art and culture and build a different future for themselves with the guidance of Kanoon’s mentors and artists.

The book “Invited Guests” introduces influential figures in the children’s field such as Farshid Mesghali, Ahmadreza Ahmadi, Abbas Kiarostami, Farideh Farjam, Parviz Kalantari, Siroos Tahbaz, and other renowned Kanoon artists.

The book is accompanied by a publisher’s preface, a preface by Ali Akbar Sadeghi, a renowned artist in painting and illustration, and notes from the author and illustrator. At the end of the book, the artists featured in the book are introduced to the audience, and parents and adults are invited to discuss these individuals and other Kanoon artists with younger audiences.

One of the notable sections of this book refers to Kanoon’s mobile libraries and mobile theater; moreover, the authors begin their story from Kanoon’s exhibition center, which was the first library of this cultural complex.

In a part of Ali Akbar Sadeghi’s note on this book, we read: “Everything started after illustrating the book ‘The Hero of Heroes’ for the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon). After seeing this book, Kanoon managers began to think, why don’t we make Iranian animation? At that time, seven months of my military service remained. One day, I received a letter which was an invitation to collaborate with Kanoon. I went there in my Air Force uniform. Firooz Shirvanloo gave me a short story and asked me to make my first animation film. I had never made a film before, and I had never seen an animation camera up close. But I had the courage, and with this work, I entered a new world.”

This work has entered the book market with a print run of 100 copies and in 44 pages.
