Urmia Welfare Organization Library Opened with Over Five Thousand Books
In an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Urmia, Rasoul Babayan expressed his satisfaction with the launch of this cultural complex, stating that increasing the level of reading, enriching the specialized knowledge of employees, and facilitating easy access for the target community to study resources are among the most important goals of establishing this library.
He emphasized that social growth and development are not possible without promoting a culture of reading, adding: “The Welfare Organization, as a social institution, is obliged to provide not only support services but also the necessary cultural and educational platforms for empowering the target community, and creating such spaces is an effective step in this regard.”
Babayan continued: The Urmia Welfare Library has been equipped with over five thousand volumes of books in various subjects including humanities, psychology, social sciences, children and youth, social work, and specialized resources related to the Welfare Organization’s field of activity. It has commenced operations at the Urmia County Welfare Office with the aim of serving employees and benefiting the target community.
He added: This complex is set to host cultural programs, book reading sessions, and related workshops by expanding its services in the near future. With the opening of this library, an important step has been taken towards promoting the culture of reading, enhancing knowledge, and increasing awareness among employees and beneficiaries, providing a valuable ground for the development of cultural activities in the provincial Welfare Organization.
