Fourth Meeting of Freiman Shahnameh Reading Association / Book Competition in Khalilabad
According to the correspondent of Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, Khorasan, this ancient and cultured land, has long been a cradle for the flourishing of brilliant art and literature in Iran. The history of Khorasan is filled with the names of great figures, each of whom has shone in their own way in the sky of culture and art of this land. From unparalleled poets like Ferdowsi, Khayyam, and Attar to prominent artists and scholars who have left a precious legacy for future generations with their works. This region, possessing a rich culture, has always been a pioneer in holding festivals and cultural and artistic events. This week, coinciding with Book Week, we had a brief overview of some of the cultural events of the past week in the cities of this province, such as book competitions, the “From Pedal to Book” program, Shahnameh reading sessions, and cultural officials’ visits to libraries.
Fourth Meeting of Freiman Shahnameh Reading and Research Association Held
The fourth meeting of the Freiman Shahnameh Reading and Research Association was held this week in the assembly hall of the Freiman Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, with the presence of the esteemed governor of the city and a group of students from Ibn Yamin Model High School. In this session, Hossein Giahi, the head of the Freiman Shahnameh Reading and Research Association, initiated the programs by reciting laudatory verses from the introduction to the story of “Akvan Div.” Then, Ebrahim Haj Mohammadi presented the third part of his lecture series titled “Foundations of Theoretical and Practical Wisdom in Shahnameh.”
Diverse Cultural Programs in Taybad Public Libraries
Coinciding with the arrival of Book, Reading, and Librarian Week, diverse cultural programs were held in the public libraries of Taybad county. Visits by students from Shahid Bahlouli Girls’ School in Darband village to the Mobile Library “Peyk Danayi 1” of Taybad county, environmental decoration of the county’s libraries focusing on Book, Reading, and Librarian Week, holding a book exhibition, and visits by students from Tolou-e Omid non-profit school in Kariz city to Shahid Motahari Library in Kariz were among the programs implemented during Book Week.
Officials Visit Atamalek Joveini Public Library
In commemoration of Book, Reading, and Librarian Week, Hojjat al-Islam Bojmehrani, the Friday prayer leader of Jovein county, the political and security deputy of the governorate, and a group of officials visited the Atamalek Joveini Public Library in Jovein county. During this visit, Mohammad Ali Shamsabadi, a book benefactor, and the librarians of Atamalek Joveini Library were appreciated.
Book Competition Held in Khalilabad, Kashmar
Coinciding with the arrival of Book and Reading Week, a book reading competition centered on the book “Mom! Dad! I’m Not a Giant” will be held in Khalilabad county. This competition is organized by the Public Libraries Department of the county in cooperation with the Education Department and the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Khalilabad county. Interested individuals can register and answer questions for the book reading competition from November 13th to December 13th, 1404 (Persian calendar, approx. 2025 CE) by visiting the website www.ketabkhooon.ir to study the book “Mom! Dad! I’m Not a Giant” and participate.
Special Cultural-Sports Program “From Pedal to Book” in Torbat Heydarieh
To mark the beginning of Book Week, a special cultural-sports program “From Pedal to Book” was held on the first day of Book Week, with the aim of promoting reading culture and a healthy lifestyle, in cooperation with the Public Libraries Department of Torbat Heydarieh county and the county’s Cycling Board.
Third Meeting of Sarakhs Public Libraries Association Held
The third meeting of the Sarakhs Public Libraries Association was held at Dr. Shariati Public Library, chaired by the county governor and attended by other real and legal members, focusing on Book Week programs.
Khaf Governor Visits Khatam al-Anbiya Public Library
Also this week, Mehdi Asiaei, the governor of Khaf county, visited the Khatam al-Anbiya Public Library and emphasized the necessity of cultural development and enhancing public access to book resources and reading.
Fourth Meeting of Kashmar Public Libraries Association Held
The fourth meeting of the Kashmar Public Libraries Association was held at Fadak Public Library in Fadafan village, with the presence of Mohammad Ghorbani, the county governor, real and legal members of the association, and the head of the county’s Public Libraries Department.
Commemoration of Book Week in Bardaskan
Coinciding with the 33rd Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a special program commemorating Book Week was held at Ostad Ahmad Aram Library in Bardaskan county, in cooperation with the Anse va Adab literary circle. Alongside this cultural gathering, various programs were held to promote reading culture and examine the importance of books in today’s society. These programs included reading short notes about the pleasure of reading, poetry recitation, and examining the impact of books on individual and social life.
