Unveiling the Third Volume of the Book ‘Children of Unknown Location’ / Honoring Librarians and Reading Activists in Yazd

According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Yazd, the Book Week of the Islamic Republic is being held across the country from November 15th to 21st, and these programs are also being implemented in Yazd Province.

Unveiling the Third Volume of the Book ‘Children of Unknown Location’

The third volume of the book ‘Children of Unknown Location’ by Javad Kamali was unveiled with the presence of Brigadier General Ali Gholami, Commander of Al-Ghadir Corps of Yazd, and provincial journalists.

Javad Kamali, the author of this book and a veteran of the eight-year Sacred Defense, said: The intelligence and operations personnel of Yazd Province were anonymous in their station, and their title was ‘unknown location’.

He added: Imam Khomeini’s statement about keeping the memory of martyrs alive being no less than martyrdom has been a goal for me in writing this book, and in a way, we believe that war memories are an inexhaustible treasure for future generations.

Kamali, referring to the compilation of the book ‘Children of Unknown Location’, stated: We selected 101 intelligence and operations personnel and compiled their memories.

He added: These memories are divided into four volumes, the first and second volumes have been unveiled, the third volume is being unveiled today, and the fourth volume is currently being edited and will be unveiled by Fajr Decade.

Kamali continued: It is the duty of the media to help writers so that we can use this spark and take steps towards more writings.

Meeting of the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Yazd with Booksellers and Publishers of Yazd Province

Hojjatoleslam Danesh, Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Yazd, in a meeting with booksellers and publishers of Yazd Province on the occasion of Book Week, said: The role of booksellers and publishers in distributing good books is very important and effective.

He stated: The work of publishing is very valuable and should receive more attention because they can take steps towards promoting books and reading with their publications and new releases.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Yazd stated: The non-governmental sector must have a strong presence by facilitating matters in the process of supporting books by us.

He said: In March, we will have a book exhibition and a Holy Quran exhibition in Yazd Province, and we hope to see the presence of top national and provincial publishers.

Danesh stated: In this meeting, methods of supporting publishers and booksellers were discussed and exchanged, and Yazdi booksellers and publishers expressed their opinions.

Honoring the Activists of Public Libraries of Yazd Province and the Winners of the ‘National Campaign: Me and Baba Azar’s Stories’

The ceremony to honor the top activists of public libraries of Yazd Province and the winners of the ‘National Campaign: Me and Baba Azar’s Stories’ was held on Wednesday with the presence of a group of officials and cultural activists in Yazd.

This ceremony was held with the aim of appreciating the sincere efforts of librarians and acknowledging the active participation of reading members across the province.

Mohammad Reza Babaei, in this meeting, referring to the importance of reading in today’s life, stated: In today’s fast-paced world, many people are looking for the right path to achieve more success, and a book is the best teacher and guide.

He added: A book places a bright lamp in the path of its readers, and using the experiences of the author prevents repeating mistakes, and reading a book helps to gain a fresh perspective on challenges and utilize opportunities to build a better future.

The Governor of Yazd also emphasized: Effort in the field of books and reading is a blessing granted by God to public library staff, and families can take steps for the greater success of their children by utilizing the available conditions.

Mohammad Mohsen Rafiei, Director General of Public Libraries of Yazd, announced on the sidelines of this ceremony: 27 people have been selected as the top performers of this institution over the past year and will be honored. He stated the total number of winners included 14 prominent librarians, seven public library supporters, two young child members, and two public library assistants.
