Library of the Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences Retirees Association Inaugurated

According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, the Retirees Association of Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences hosted a cultural event on Wednesday evening, where the association’s new library was inaugurated and the 100th reading session of the Veteran Book Readers Association was also celebrated.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Ma’roufi, the head of the Neyshabur Retirees Association, while congratulating on Book Week and welcoming the guests, considered the inauguration of the library an effective step towards developing the association’s scientific and cultural activities. He also described the presence of retirees, employees, students, and children in this association as a special opportunity for greater communication and interaction between different generations.

He added: The newly established library of this association has begun its operation with hundreds of books in the fields of health, literature, psychology, history, and lifestyle. A significant portion of these books has been donated and collected by retired members and academics.

Following the program, the celebration of the 100th reading session of the Veterans Association was held. On this occasion, a commemorative cake for the 100th session was cut by officials and veterans and then distributed among the attendees. During the reception, participants were welcomed with sweets, fruits, and tea, which further enhanced the warm atmosphere of the event.

This event was attended by the Mayor, members of the City Council, representatives of the University of Medical Sciences, the head of the Applied Science University, and the head of the city’s public libraries. Cultural officials, by attending this ceremony, while congratulating on the inauguration of the library and the 100th reading session, emphasized the important role of veterans in promoting reading culture and developing the cultural capital of society.

Other programs of this event included book review and introduction, an exhibition of donated books, and giving books to participants, which received special attention from the attendees.
