Zarif: Es’haq Jahangiri Was a Heavyweight of Moderation in the Government / Rouhani and Jahangiri Were Always Together in Government, Although Jahangiri Had Some Displeasures.

According to Khabaronline News Agency, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the unveiling ceremony of the book “In the Thought of Iran,” which comprises the eight-year memoirs of Es’haq Jahangiri’s presence as First Vice President, stated: Dr. Jahangiri is the embodiment of his book’s title, and the book itself is a symbol of this embodiment. The idea of Iran is the core element in Dr. Jahangiri’s approaches. His political life proves this point, that he is thinking about Iran’s development.

According to ISNA, he recalled: Dr. Jahangiri has acted based on the necessities of Iran’s development and can today stand proud among the Iranian people that he has never deviated from such a path.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for the eleventh and twelfth governments continued: Iran’s power lies in its people and the good managers it has nurtured, and Dr. Jahangiri is one of them. Unfortunately, this great asset was not protected, and proper use was not made of it, but at the same time, Iran’s future is bright because of this very asset.

Zarif, stating that Jahangiri is a symbol of reformism, said: He sought reform in the government and the country, and every word of this book also shows that he is always striving for reform. Both in this book and in the government, he was an embodiment of moderation; he never lost his temper and invited others to moderation with calmness and composure; including myself, who sometimes deviate from the path of moderation. I am always indebted to him, who represented moderation in the government.

The Foreign Minister of the eleventh and twelfth governments said: Jahangiri, as he has shown in his performance and in his book, considers the people to be the true owners of the country and, in the words of the late Imam, benefactors. The people should always be our compass, which has been the case so far and should remain so.

In the final part of his speech, he clarified: Contrary to what has been said, Mr. Rouhani and Jahangiri were always together in the government. Although Dr. Jahangiri had some displeasures, he was a heavyweight of moderation in that government.
