Eshaq Jahangiri’s Book of Memoirs from Khaniki’s Perspective: Re-reading Historical Experiences Illuminates the Path to Reforming Governance Approaches
According to Khabar Online news agency, Hadi Khaniki, at the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘In the Thought of Iran,’ which recounts Eshaq Jahangiri’s eight-year tenure as First Vice President, referred to the book’s features and said: This book is not merely the narrative of an executive official but an effort to re-understand contemporary Iranian history and the opportunities that are less often considered due to political disputes and misunderstandings.
According to ISNA, he added: This book highlights the necessity of re-reading historical experiences in our society and shows why some decisions failed and others succeeded, and how today’s governance approaches can be reformed.
Khaniki, stating that “development is not possible without stability and predictability,” remarked: Development does not last without dialogue between the government and society, and without monetary and financial stability. In this book, Jahangiri is neither seeking to heroize himself nor merely presenting an academic account, but rather, in plain language, narrates what he experienced during his eight years as First Vice President.
The Allameh University communications professor recalled: This book focuses on lived experiences and real data and is sensitive to people’s issues and social capital. The main thesis of this book is how Iran can and should embark on a path of development. Iran’s development is essential, and we even need it in everyday matters.
He said: Dr. Jahangiri’s proposed path in this book, of which he is the narrator, is multifaceted and comprehensive, focusing on restoring trust and national dialogue, and relying on de-escalation policy and productive investment.
Khaniki reminded: The central theme of this book is development as Iran’s most pivotal need, and this book is a call to managers, policymakers, and academic and civil activists.
