«Belgian Fish» goes to Book Garden

According to Khabaronline News Agency, quoting the show’s media consultant, Aroun Dashtaray will stage the play «Belgian Fish» from late autumn at the Kor Box Hall of the Décor Theater and Music Campus (Book Garden).

Previously, this theatrical work was scheduled to be staged this summer, but due to the 12-day war, the performance of this project was postponed to late autumn.

The play «Belgian Fish» is written by Leonor Confino, translated by Hamidreza Amanpour Gharai, and directed by Aroun Dashtaray. Simultaneously with the announcement of the play’s performance date, the logo of this theatrical work, jointly designed by Mahsa Ghalinejad and Omid Nemalhabib, was unveiled.

Leonor Confino is a prominent French playwright whose works are known for their keen insight, dark humor, and psychological treatments.

Confino, who is also an actress, often addresses the complexities of identity, family, and human relationships in her works, creating multi-layered and tense characters with a humane and contemporary perspective. The play «Belgian Fish» is one of her most important works, inviting the audience on an inner, discovery-filled journey with a combination of humor, tragedy, and mystery. Its synopsis states: An unusual narrative of a surprising encounter. This play was first performed about 6 years ago in France and received significant acclaim.

«Belgian Fish» is the latest work by Virgule Performing Arts Company, which is currently undergoing its rehearsal and preparation stages. Soon, the play’s executive group will be introduced, and details of its performance will be announced. Last year, Dashtaray staged the play «Bluebeard» at the Décor Theater and Music Campus (Book Garden).
