Children’s Authors Play a Significant Role in Shaping the Imagination and Thoughts of Future Generations

According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Urmia, Khadijeh Maasoumi, during the unveiling ceremony of the first book by members of Deniz Literary Circle titled «Words Sprout» at the Urmia Central Library, held concurrently with the 33rd Islamic Republic Book Week, called this event valuable and noteworthy, adding: “It is hoped that this event will be the beginning of a new path for greater successes for the circle’s members in the future.”

She added: “Children and youth authors play an important role in shaping the world of imagination, ethics, and thoughts of the future generation, and their works are not just entertainment, but a bridge between education and pleasure, between reality and dreams.”

The Director General of Public Libraries of West Azerbaijan continued: “These authors, with simple and intimate language, teach values such as friendship, integrity, and hope to children and foster their imagination.”

Creative Perspective of Children and Youth; The Main Feature of the Book «Words Sprout»

Sonia Hassandai, a PhD in Literature and a university lecturer, also stated at the program: “Although the authors of the book’s content are children and adolescents, scientific and technical issues are well observed in the stories and poems of this book, and this is certainly the result of the well-calculated and wise efforts of the circle’s secretary.”

Hassandai explained: “Children’s perspectives, though childlike and simple, are scientific and philosophical, and their creativity and innovation are truly thought-provoking.”

This university lecturer continued: “Also, literary and scientific writing techniques for poetry have been well observed by the book’s authors, because specific parameters must be followed for a work to become a classical poem or a free verse poem, all of which the children have skillfully adhered to.”

The book «Words Sprout» is a joint collection of poetry and stories by members of Deniz Literary Circle. The book contains 27 works in the form of poetry and stories, which were edited and compiled by Sahar Afzali, the circle’s secretary, and published by “Rohan” publishing house. The illustrators of this book are Roxana Bolouri, children’s section librarian of the Central Library, author and translator, and Artin Asgari, an illustrator from Deniz Circle members.

Sahar Afzali is an author, translator, and lecturer who has four published works to her name, and Artin Asgari has achieved national and international rankings in design and storytelling.
