Central Province Book Fair Opens at Ayineh Cultural Center in Arak

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Markazi Province, during a visit to the exhibition, emphasized the necessity of expanding the culture of reading in society in an interview with the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Arak. He stated that the solidarity and synergy of cultural institutions can integrate books more than ever into the lives of various segments of society, especially youth and adolescents.

He added that holding book fairs plays an important role in promoting the culture of reading and familiarizing the new generation with books and reading, and can create new opportunities for audiences to connect with books.

Izadi, referring to the focus on books as one of the most important priorities of the provincial Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, stated: Supporting the authorship, printing, distribution, and promotion of books, as well as donating books to various segments of society, are among the main programs of this department to facilitate people’s access to books.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Markazi Province emphasized the role of reading in enhancing individual awareness and skills, saying: We must believe that with every book we read, a new window opens to life, and books introduce us to the mental, social world, and ideas of authors.

He continued: One of the main missions of the department is to support the province’s authors and publishers to further smooth the path for the production of valuable works.

Izadi stated that this exhibition has been organized with the aim of placing books in the cultural basket of families and to commemorate Book and Reading Week. He noted that book fairs, in addition to offering diverse works for different age groups, provide a platform for discovering literary talents among adolescents and youth, and familiarizing this group with authors can be an incentive for creating new works.

He added: Books are one of the important tools for cultural development and enhancing social capital, and play a fundamental role in educating aware, dynamic, and responsible citizens. Developing infrastructure and promotional programs for reading will lead to a dialogue-centered and forward-looking society.

The Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Markazi Province concluded by expressing hope that, with widespread public reception from families, this exhibition can take an effective step in developing the culture of reading in society.
