Only a book can gather us under the umbrella of meaning

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), quoting the press headquarters of the 33rd Iran Book Week, Ebrahim Heidari, CEO of the Iran House of Books and Literature and Secretary of the 33rd Book Week, wrote a message upon the event’s commencement:

“With the start of the 33rd Book Week, we are once again reminded that a book is not only the written memory of a nation but also a refuge for empathy and the common language of humans. In a time when divergence and social ruptures threaten our collective peace, a book can gather us under the umbrella of meaning, where differences turn into dialogue, and words build a bridge between hearts.”

“A book is more than a tool for knowing; it is an opportunity for being together, for hearing the voice of another, for understanding shared pains, dreams, and hopes. In the shadow of books, we can achieve genuine and lasting joy, and certainly, this joy arises from understanding, empathy, and participation in building a brighter future.”

“We, at the Iran House of Books and Literature, consider ourselves your servants and strive with all our might to smooth the path for the presence of books in individual and collective life. We hope that this week will not only be a commemoration of books but also a renewal of commitment to the culture of reading, dialogue, and coexistence.”

According to IBNA, the 33rd Iran Book Week, with the slogan ‘Read for Iran,’ began on Saturday, November 15 (Aban 24, 1404), and will continue until November 21 (Aban 30).
