Lorestan Libraries on the Path of Development / Implementation of 330 Programs in Book Week

According to Khabaronline news agency from Lorestan, Elham Borna, referring to the details of these programs, said: Book criticism, unveiling of written works, holding book exhibitions, and other cultural programs are among the planned events that will be held with the target audience present. Also, the unveiling of three volumes of books by the Supreme Leader is one of the most important events of Book Week, which will be held nationally and live at the center.

Ongoing Construction Projects

The head of the provincial libraries department also referred to the institution’s construction projects, stating:

“Nine construction projects across the province are underway; Noorabad Library has 80% physical progress, Kuhdasht 55%, Alishtar 90%, Veisian 35%, and Garab 85%. The Azna Library project is also under construction, and the Alishtar project is expected to be operational by the end of the current year.”

She added: The library being built next to Kio Park, according to an agreement with the municipality from previous years, is currently located in Moallem Park and has achieved 35% physical progress so far.

Khorramabad Central Library

Borna further stated regarding the Khorramabad Central Library: This library has been designed in three phases; the first phase has been put into operation, and the second phase is nearing completion. The third phase includes the construction of an amphitheater with a capacity of 450 people, and efforts are underway to accelerate its construction process.

Need for Support for Infrastructure Development

She concluded by emphasizing: The General Department of Public Libraries of Lorestan operates as a specialized cultural institution in the province with 40 institutional libraries, 20 participatory libraries, and 123 personnel, providing services to the intellectual community and knowledge seekers. Therefore, it is expected that the Provincial Management and Planning Organization will provide the necessary support for the development of this cultural institution’s infrastructure, as it has in the past.
