“A Feast of Poetry, Mystical Prose, and Thought” Comes to the Book Table / Man, Intuition, and a Narrative from the Borderless Language of Art

Hossein Paeen Mahalli, in an interview with a correspondent from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Gorgan, announced that the book “A Feast of Poetry, Mystical Prose, and Thought” is his latest written work, published by Arses Publications in 184 pages. With editing and cover design by Zahra Rafati and layout by Hamidreza Rezvani Awal, it has been released in three sections: poetry, mystical prose (shath), and articles. It was unveiled at a ceremony during Book Week and presented to the audience.

He discussed the titles of some articles published in this book, stating: “A Note on the Book ‘The Forty Rules of Love'”, “Khatoun and the Commander and About Love”, “An Overview of Hafez’s Intellectual System and Hafez and the Truth of Love”, “Dariush Mehrjui’s Iranian Cinema and the New Wave”, and “The Necessity of Revisiting the Cultural Engineering Map of the Country” are some of the article titles.

Hossein Paeen Mahalli stated: “I believe art is a common language among humans; a language that can connect hearts beyond borders.”

Paeen Mahalli also said: “Poetry is our identity and birth certificate, and the rituals in which we can recognize our roots, feelings, and beliefs. Meanwhile, mystical prose (shath) is a neglected and lesser-known style, a method that can help express the deepest layers of human intuition and inner experience.”

He added: “From my perspective, man is the shepherd of existence, not the master of nature. His mission is not to dominate being, but to protect and care for it.”

Paeen Mahalli concluded, commemorating Book Week: “We must define ourselves under monotheism; because in the light of this understanding, man gains the ability to ‘produce’ and ‘create’ and can, without taking God’s place, reflect a color of the Creator in the mirror of creation. In this book, I have tried to pay attention to this issue as much as possible.”

According to IBNA, Hossein Paeen Mahalli, a writer and researcher born in 1983 in Jelin, Central District of Gorgan County, holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and is an employee of the Golestan Province Public Libraries Institute.

He began writing in his teenage years and later, in 2002, founded the “Mehr Jelin Poetry and Literature Association” in Jelin with the cooperation of several friends, which has resulted in one poetry collection titled “Saplings” so far. In two decades of writing and journalistic activity, he has penned and published nearly 400 articles in provincial and national publications and websites in the fields of Western studies, humanities, and cultural issues.

To date, he has published books with titles such as “Last Station: Mystical Prose,” “Political Role-Playing of Animals in Classical Literature with a Look at Kalila and Dimna,” and “Cultural Essays of Jelin City.” He also has books with titles like “Spectacular America,” “Translations of Imagination,” and “Culture in the Media Frame” in print.
